About
Who?
QFPC 2011 is brought to you by twelve wonderful members of the QFPC executive team, in conjunction with the Queen’s International Affairs Association (QIAA).
What?
Queen's Foreign Policy Conference has a history of bringing together students and experts to discuss Canadian foreign policy issues and international affairs. The topic changes each year, and this year we are pleased to present to you the exciting issue of “Foreign Policy in the Information Age.” The conference will be based around two case studies. The first will simulate a revolution similar to those which have occurred as part of the “Arab Spring;” specifically, we will be examining the influence that social media has had on contemporary political movements. During the second case study delegates will examine the emerging phenomenon of cyber warfare, and the new challenges that the Internet poses to state security.
On Friday night, we will enjoy ourselves at a Wine and Cheese event, featuring two of our speakers. On Saturday, we will be running our two case studies and hearing from three more speakers, all experts on “Foreign Policy in the Information Age". As well, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch, and an all-day supply of coffee, tea and snacks.
When?
November 11-12, 2011
Where?
The conference will be held at the Donald Gordon Conference Centre at 421 Union Street.
Why?
To unite interested, talented, passionate students from a variety of programs to share ideas about the Internet, media and and foreign policy, while benefiting from the opinions of experts. The weekend will be informative, memorable and fun!
